Photo – Supplied Han Lynn already established himself as one of the most promising poets of his generation. 2017 was busy year for the Kalaw native having hosted the Violent Memories international arts festival in Yangon in April and participating in the Singapore Writers Festival in November. He gained further international exposure with the release of Burma Storybook in June, feature length documentary about Myanmar’s dissident poets, which has since screened at film festivals across Europe and Asia and in dozens of townships throughout Myanmar. Pulse sat down with Han Lynn to ask about his inspirations, the writing process and the changing poetry landscape in Myanmar. What are your favourite subjects to write about and why? don’t have favourite subjects when writing poetry. Though have some that happen to write about, don’t have favourite ones at all.
